The Fine Arts Fiesta in Downtown Wilkes-Barre

Standard

Hey, internet! If you’ ve been following my NEPA Arts & Crafts series, you know that the Fine Arts Fiesta in downtown Wilkes-Barre started yesterday and will continue until the 20th!

Today I managed to travel to the Wilkes-Barre public square with a very reluctant boyfriend and our best friend, Kt, and check out all the action!

Wilkes-Barre hosts an array of many different artists, from painters to jewelry-makers, carpenters to photographers. The city is so incredibly diverse, you never know who or what you’re going to see next.

Me, I was clunking around in my new red high heels, and by the time we made it from our car to the square my feet were just killing me. I was too distracted by my newfound foot pain to remember to take any pictures! I have many things to learn yet about walking in heels.

Someone was snapping photos, however, and my friends told me that while I wasn’t looking one of the local photographers got a shot of my back tattoo without my permission, so I’ll be scouring the internet to see where I turn up.

One great thing about the fiesta is the amalgamation of different cultures and the wide variety of snack foods these ethnic groups bring to the table. If you’re not into carnival food, there are wonderful restaurants in the surrounding area serving Thai, Japanese, Italian, Mexican and American palates.

If you haven’t stopped by the Fine Arts Fiesta in downtown Wilkes-Barre, remember you have until May 20th to see all these inspiring, creative vendors local to the NEPA region! So what are you waiting for?

This is the local arts & crafts event I’ve been waiting for all year! What events do you love to attend in the Spring and Summer? What makes creative types come together in your area?
